Die St. John's Cathedral, etwa 8 bis 10 Minuten bergauf von den Piers, ist bereits die dritte Kirche an dieser Stelle, denn Erdbeben zerstörten 1683 und 1745 ihre Vorgänger. Der heutige Bau stammt von 1845. Nelson's Dockyard in English Harbour, ein georgianischer Marinestützpunkt und seit 2016 UNESCO-Welterbe, liegt etwa 30 Kilometer entfernt, rund 45 Minuten mit dem Taxi. Nationalgericht ist Fungee and Pepperpot, ein fester Brei aus Maismehl und Okra mit einem dicken Eintopf aus Pökelfleisch und Gemüse.
