Beidseitig steigen Berge steil aus dem Wasser auf, während das Schiff durch die schmale Meeresbucht fährt. Die Altstadt ist ein kompaktes, ummauertes mittelalterliches Viertel direkt am Wasser, mit Kopfsteinpflastergassen, Steinkirchen und kleinen Plätzen. Wenn Ihr Schiff am Pier festmacht, gehen Sie direkt hinein. Wenn es ankert, bringen Tenderboote Sie an dieselbe Stelle. Der Aufstieg zur Festung San Giovanni dauert über etwa 1.300 Stufen und belohnt Sie mit Ausblicken über die gesamte Bucht. Die Kirche Our Lady of Remedy liegt auf halber Strecke, falls Sie die Aussicht ohne den vollen Aufstieg genießen möchten. Eine Bootsfahrt zu Our Lady of the Rocks, einer künstlichen Insel mit einer Kirche, ist ein kurzer Ausflug. Das nahe Perast hat venezianische Paläste an der Uferpromenade.
