Azimuth Crossing – Salvador & Rio de Janeiro
About this cruise
You come back from a trip like this actually rested, not just "I went on vacation" rested. 12 nights from Funchal on November 19, 2026, visiting Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Salvador and Rio de Janeiro. Last stop: Rio de Janeiro. Ports up front, sea days at the end. By the time you're back in Funchal, you'll feel properly rested rather than rushed. Black-sand beaches on one island, dense laurel forests on another. The Canaries are surprisingly varied. Of the stops, Salvador tends to be the one people talk about: Afro-Brazilian rhythm in a colonial setting. Roughly 10 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. MSC Virtuosa takes the food seriously, with 7 restaurants to choose from. 1 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. With more nights comes more time for the ship's rhythm to kick in: morning coffee in the same spot, evening shows, late-night conversations on deck. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. And November is a good call. Still warm, less crowded, and usually cheaper too. Sometimes the best trips are the ones you just go ahead and book.
