This Privacy Policy explains how Cruisello (the "Service"), a business registered in the Netherlands, collects and uses your data when you visit cruisello.com.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account data

When you create an account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Name
• Sign-in method (email code, Google, Facebook, or Discord)
• Cruise preferences you save (for example preferred ports, cruise types, or durations)
• Price alerts and saved sailings you create

1.2 Social sign-in (Google, Facebook, Discord)

If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Discord, we receive basic profile information from that provider, typically:

• Your name
• Your email address
• A unique provider account ID

We store this so we can create and recognize your Cruisello account. We do not post to your social accounts or access your friends list.

You can disconnect a provider anytime in Account settings. Disconnecting a provider does not delete your Cruisello account.

1.3 Usage data

We automatically collect technical and usage data to run and improve the Service:

• IP address (security and to suggest relevant departure regions)
• Browser and device information
• Pages visited, time on page, and visit timestamps

1.4 Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential features, analytics, and preferences. Details are in our cookie settings.

Local storage on your device may keep things like recently viewed cruises and browsing preferences. You can clear this in your browser.

PostHog (analytics) and Sentry (error monitoring) may set cookies or collect technical data as described in their own policies.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Save your alerts, preferences, and account settings
• Send transactional emails (sign-in codes, account confirmation, deletion confirmation)
• Send marketing emails only if you opt in
• Analyze usage and fix errors
• Comply with legal obligations

Legal bases under GDPR include consent, contract (providing the Service), and legitimate interests (security and product improvement).

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not share your account data with cruise lines. When you click "Book Now", you leave Cruisello and go to the cruise line's site. Their privacy policy applies from that point.

We use processors that help us run the Service (for example hosting, email delivery, analytics, and error monitoring). They only process data on our instructions.

4. Data Retention

• Account data: kept while your account is active, or longer if the law requires it
• Usage and analytics data: kept for up to 12 months
• Marketing data: kept until you withdraw consent or delete your account

When retention ends, we delete or anonymize the data.

5. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you can:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Receive a copy of your data (portability)
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

In the app: sign in and open Account settings to update your profile, download your data (including analytics events linked to your account), or delete your account.

6. Data Security

We use encryption, secure hosting, and access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by law (typically within 72 hours where applicable).

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe we have.

8. International Transfers

We primarily process data in the European Economic Area (EEA). If data leaves the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
