Ocean Discovery – Istanbul, Izmir & Volos
About this cruise
No complicated itinerary, no back-to-back transfers, just the ports, the ship, and the sea in between. This 7-night sailing from Piraeus (Athens) on September 24, 2027 visits Istanbul, Izmir, Volos, Santorini and Nafplio. A few ports come in quick succession, which is great for sightseeing but means you'll appreciate the sea days when they arrive. Ancient temples, white-and-blue Greek islands, and warm Aegean water. Hard to argue with. Santorini stands out. It's Sunsets that redefine the colour blue. Around 9 hours per port on average, which is generous enough to go beyond the obvious. At 114,500 gross tons, Costa Pacifica is big enough that you can find a quiet corner or a crowd, depending on your mood. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. If you can, add a night in Piraeus (Athens) before boarding. It's a good city to wander. The autumn timing is underrated too. Good weather, calmer seas, and a more relaxed ship. All in all, it's a solid trip.
