Grand World Tour – Genoa to Germany
About this cruise
A trip this long changes your rhythm entirely, and that's very much the point. 132 nights from Genoa on January 5, 2027, visiting Marseille, Barcelona and Gibraltar, with additional stops along the Western Mediterranean. Last stop: Warnemünde (Rostock). The final stretch is open ocean, which gives you time to process everything you've seen and use the ship one last time. Crossing 25 borders through the Western Mediterranean: France, Spain, United Kingdom, Morocco, Cape Verde, Brazil, Argentina, Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), Chile, French Polynesia, Cook Islands, New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, United States, Samoa, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica, British Virgin Islands, Sint Maarten, Italy and Germany. You'll notice the culture shift at every stop. You get around 10 hours in each port, which is enough for an excursion, lunch, and some wandering around on your own. When you're not ashore, MSC Magnifica takes the food seriously, with 4 restaurants to choose from. 3 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. One of the underrated parts of a longer cruise: you actually get to know people. The couple from dinner, the group at trivia, the bartender who remembers your drink. If you like having options (restaurants, bars, activities, entertainment), a big ship delivers that. Pro tip: fly in the day before. Genoa has plenty to offer, and you'll board relaxed instead of rushed. While everyone else deals with the January cold, you'll be somewhere warmer. And floating. Good route, good ship, good timing. It all lines up.
