Ocean Discovery – Puerto Plata/Amber Cove, St Thomas & Tortola
About this cruise
No complicated itinerary, no back-to-back transfers, just the ports, the ship, and the sea in between. This 7-night sailing from Miami on August 19, 2028 visits Puerto Plata (Amber Cove), St. Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay. A few ports come in quick succession, which is great for sightseeing but means you'll appreciate the sea days when they arrive. The Caribbean route takes in Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands and Bahamas, 4 countries, and the differences show up in the food, the architecture, and the mood. Tortola alone is worth the trip, BVI's mountainous sailing paradise. Port time is tight at about 8 hours each. Pick your favourites and save the rest for another trip. Norwegian Aura joined the Norwegian Cruise Line's lineup in 2027. Still has that new-ship feel. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. If you can, add a night in Miami before boarding. It's a good city to wander. The timing works well too: warm evenings on deck, late sunsets, and a lively atmosphere. Worth booking. That's the short version.
