Mediterranean Getaway – Rome, Athens & Crete
About this cruise
No complicated itinerary, no back-to-back transfers, just the ports, the ship, and the sea in between. This 7-night sailing from Civitavecchia (Rome) on September 5, 2026 visits Naples, Souda (Chania), Kusadasi, Mykonos and Piraeus (Athens). You wind up in Piraeus (Athens), so it's worth planning a night or two there. There's a nice rhythm here: explore a port, recover at sea, do it again. You never feel rushed or restless. Crossing 3 borders through the Eastern Mediterranean: Italy, Greece and Türkiye. You'll notice the culture shift at every stop. Naples stands out. It's Chaos, pizza, and passion beneath Vesuvius. Around 12 hours per port on average, which is generous enough to go beyond the obvious. Sun Princess joined the Princess Cruises's lineup in 2024. Still has that new-ship feel. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. The autumn timing is underrated too. Good weather, calmer seas, and a more relaxed ship. All in all, it's a solid trip.
