Ocean Discovery – Cagliari, Naples & Civitavecchia (Rome)
About this cruise
A week or so at sea, a few great ports, and nothing to organise once you're on board. This 7-night sailing from Barcelona on October 31, 2027 visits Cagliari, Naples, Civitavecchia (Rome), Genoa and Marseille. Expect a run of consecutive ports, 5 stops total, with the busiest days packed close together. The sea days around them feel earned. Warm plazas, gelato by the harbour, and old things everywhere you look. Cagliari stands out. It's Sardinia's sun-bleached capital of flamingos and fortresses. Roughly 9 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. Costa Smeralda carries up to 5,224 guests over 20 decks. Multiple pools, a theatre, and more restaurants than you'll get through. Barcelona itself is worth spending some time in. Don't just treat it as a departure point. And October is a good call. Still warm, less crowded, and usually cheaper too. All in all, it's a solid trip.
