About Costa Smeralda

Costa Smeralda is the first of Costa's Excellence-class ships and the line's flagship, entering service in December 2019. At 185,010 GT she is one of the largest cruise ships ever built for the European market and is fully powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), among the first cruise ships in the world to use the cleaner-burning fuel for all onboard and propulsion power. Her design pays homage to Italian style, with interiors themed around Italy's iconic cities and a two-deck Colosseo theatre at her heart.
