Ocean Discovery – San Antonio, Puerto Montt & Ushuaia
About this cruise
Somewhere around day five the ship stops being transport and starts being home. This 15-night sailing from San Antonio on February 1, 2028 visits Puerto Montt, Ushuaia and Paradise Harbor, with additional stops along the South America. You get off in Buenos Aires, which is a good excuse to tack on a few days on land. The pace alternates neatly: port day, sea day, port day, sea day. 8 stops with a breather between each one. It's a proper South America tour: 5 countries, from Chile to Uruguay. Most ports give you about 8 hours, so you can do more than just tick off the main sights. As for the ship itself, From casual buffets to proper sit-down restaurants, Norwegian Star has 13 dining spots on board, most of them included. 15 nights is long enough to build a routine on board: favourite restaurant, favourite deck chair, favourite people. It starts to feel like a floating village. The timing adds to it: swapping cold weather for sunshine and sea air is the whole pitch for a winter cruise. 15 nights of not thinking about anything except where to eat next. That's the pitch.

Getting there: out to San Antonio, home from Buenos Aires
