About this cruise
7 nights, 5 ports, all from Barcelona on August 12, 2028. The route visits Palermo, Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos and Piraeus (Athens) and the whole thing just flows. You get off in Piraeus (Athens), which is a good excuse to tack on a few days on land. The itinerary clusters several port calls together. Fast-paced for a few days, then the sea days hit and you can catch your breath. Whitewashed Cycladic villages one day, busy bazaars the next. Very different moods, same cruise. You get around 11 hours in each port, which is enough for an excursion, lunch, and some wandering around on your own. When you're not ashore, Celebrity Xcel launched in 2025, so everything on board is still new. You can tell. An August departure puts you in the best summer conditions: long days, warm nights, plenty of sun. 7 nights of not thinking about anything except where to eat next. That's the pitch.
