Craft coffee in one port, old-growth forest in the next. The West Coast has its own rhythm. Don't rush through Victoria, which is known as English gardens on Canada's Pacific coast. Nieuw Amsterdam takes the food seriously, with 9 restaurants to choose from. 5 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. Works well as a long weekend away, or a quick reset between bigger trips. And April is a good time to go. Mild weather, things starting to bloom, and fewer people than summer.
