Norwegian Spirit has one of the more colourful backstories in the NCL fleet. Built in 1998 for Star Cruises and later transferred to Norwegian, she carries traces of her Asian heritage in the interior detailing, which gives her a look unlike anything else in the lineup. A major overhaul in 2020 added Cagney's Steakhouse, The Local bar, and a fully rebuilt spa, turning Spirit into a polished mid-size ship with an eclectic personality. Her compact dimensions make her a strong fit for Australia and Southeast Asia itineraries where bigger ships simply can't go.
