7 nights - Eastern Mediterranean with Istanbul - from/to Heraklion
About this cruise
Long enough to properly switch off but not so long you need to reorganise your entire life. This 7-night round-trip sailing from Heraklion on April 16, 2027 visits Istanbul, Mykonos, Piraeus (Athens) and Souda (Chania). Expect a run of consecutive ports, 4 stops total, with the busiest days packed close together. The sea days around them feel earned. A lot of Western civilisation started around here, and the views haven't changed much since. Of the stops, Piraeus (Athens) tends to be the one people talk about: The Acropolis beckons from the harbour. Roughly 13 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. Mein Schiff 5 keeps you well fed. 11 places to eat, with 8 included in the fare and a few specialty spots if you're in the mood. Long enough that you stop checking your phone. Short enough that you're not bored. If you can, add a night in Heraklion before boarding. It's a good city to wander. And April is a good time to go. Mild weather, things starting to bloom, and fewer people than summer. Sometimes the best trips are the ones you just go ahead and book.
