Amber Resins – Puerto Plata & Grand Turk
About this cruise
A week or so at sea, a few great ports, and nothing to organise once you're on board. This 7-night sailing from Fort Lauderdale on October 17, 2026 visits Princess Cays, Puerto Plata (Amber Cove) and Grand Turk Island. The mix of 3 days ashore and 3 at sea means you won't feel like you need a holiday from your holiday. The route threads through 3 countries along the Caribbean coast: Bahamas, Dominican Republic and Turks & Caicos Islands. Puerto Plata (Amber Cove) stands out. It's Dominican amber and Atlantic waves. Roughly 9 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. There are 12 restaurants on Regal Princess, so you'd need to double up a few evenings to try them all in 7 nights. Fort Lauderdale itself is worth spending some time in. Don't just treat it as a departure point. And October is a good call. Still warm, less crowded, and usually cheaper too. All in all, it's a solid trip.
