Germany's Club Ship
AIDA Cruises is Germany's biggest cruise line and the German-language brand inside Carnival Corporation, run from Rostock. Every ship carries the red lips and eyes painted on the bow, and the whole operation is built around German-speaking guests: announcements, menus, shows and kids' clubs are in German, and the atmosphere is closer to a resort club than a classic cruise. There are no formal nights and no fixed dinner seatings. Most meals are buffets with drinks at the table included, and the bigger ships add à-la-carte restaurants, a brewery and a theatre in the round. The fleet is eleven ships, from the older Sphinx-class AIDAdiva, AIDAbella and AIDAluna through AIDAprima and AIDAperla to the LNG-powered AIDAnova and AIDAcosma, the largest at around 5,200 guests. Itineraries are heavily Northern Europe from Kiel, Hamburg and Warnemünde, plus the Mediterranean, the Canaries and Madeira, the Caribbean and Asia in winter, and an annual world cruise. Prices are in euros and the fare is the all-in German Endpreis, with tips included.
Every fare includes your cabin, all your meals, and the ship's entertainment and facilities.
Also available to buy on board: Alcohol, Wi-Fi, Excursions.
