The route threads through 3 countries along the Caribbean coast: Bahamas, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. Celebration Key alone is worth the trip, Carnival's newest private island escape. Roughly 9 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. There are 18 restaurants on Carnival Celebration, so you'd need to double up a few evenings to try them all in 7 nights. Miami itself is worth spending some time in. Don't just treat it as a departure point. And April is a good time to go. Mild weather, things starting to bloom, and fewer people than summer.
