Ironclad Fort – Valletta, Messina & Naples
About this cruise
A week or so at sea, a few great ports, and nothing to organise once you're on board. This 7-night sailing from Marseille on July 11, 2026 visits Genoa, Naples, Messina, Valletta and Barcelona. Expect a run of consecutive ports, 5 stops total, with the busiest days packed close together. The sea days around them feel earned. The route threads through 3 countries along the Western Mediterranean coast: Italy, Malta and Spain. If one port sticks with you, it'll probably be Messina, Sicily's gateway to Mount Etna and Taormina. Roughly 9 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. There are 9 restaurants on MSC World Europa, so you'd need to double up a few evenings to try them all in 7 nights. Marseille itself is worth spending some time in. Don't just treat it as a departure point. And July means long, warm days. Good for the ports, good for the pool. It's the kind of trip you actually remember afterwards.
