Island Whisper – Caribbean’s Veins
About this cruise
If you've got 12 nights to work with, this sailing from Fort Lauderdale on January 17, 2027 through Half Moon Cay, Oranjestad and Cartagena, with additional stops along the Caribbean is genuinely one of the better ways to spend them. A few ports come in quick succession, which is great for sightseeing but means you'll appreciate the sea days when they arrive. The route threads through 6 countries along the Caribbean coast: Bahamas, Netherlands, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Cayman Islands. Keep an eye out for Colon: Where the canal connects two oceans. With about 7 hours at each port, you'll want a plan, or at least a shortlist. Nieuw Amsterdam has 9 restaurants on board, which means you could eat somewhere different nearly every night. There are enough performances, events, and social mixers on a cruise this length that you couldn't do them all if you tried. And that's a good problem. Fort Lauderdale itself is worth spending some time in. Don't just treat it as a departure point. That's 12 nights well spent.
