Mediterranean Splendor – Rome, Malta & Barcelona
About this cruise
You board in Civitavecchia (Rome) on December 14, 2026 for 7 nights visiting Messina, Valletta, Barcelona, Marseille and Genoa, and you come back from this kind of trip wondering why you don't do it more often. A few ports come in quick succession, which is great for sightseeing but means you'll appreciate the sea days when they arrive. 4 countries (Italy, Malta, Spain and France) across the Western Mediterranean, each with its own character. Genoa stands out. It's Columbus' birthplace, a labyrinth of caruggi. Around 9 hours per port on average, which is generous enough to go beyond the obvious. MSC World Asia launched in 2026, so everything on board is still new. You can tell. A December sailing is basically an excuse to chase the sun for a week or two. All in all, it's a solid trip.
