Obsidian Path – Messina, Naples & Valletta
About this cruise
A week or so at sea, a few great ports, and nothing to organise once you're on board. This 7-night sailing from Barcelona on August 6, 2027 visits Marseille, Genoa, Naples, Messina and Valletta. Expect a run of consecutive ports, 5 stops total, with the busiest days packed close together. The sea days around them feel earned. The Western Mediterranean route takes in France, Italy and Malta, 3 countries, and the differences show up in the food, the architecture, and the mood. Of the stops, Genoa tends to be the one people talk about: Columbus' birthplace, a labyrinth of caruggi. Roughly 9 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. MSC World Asia joined the MSC Cruises's lineup in 2026. Still has that new-ship feel. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. If you can, add a night in Barcelona before boarding. It's a good city to wander. And August means long, warm days. Good for the ports, good for the pool. Sometimes the best trips are the ones you just go ahead and book.
