It starts gently with sea days, so by the time you reach the first port you'll have explored the ship and actually feel on holiday. The Caribbean route takes in Sint Maarten, British Virgin Islands and Dominican Republic, 3 countries, and the differences show up in the food, the architecture, and the mood. You get around 8 hours in each port, which is enough for an excursion, lunch, and some wandering around on your own. When you're not ashore, Celebrity Xcel launched in 2025, so everything on board is still new. You can tell. If you like having options (restaurants, bars, activities, entertainment), a big ship delivers that. Hard to ask for much more than that, honestly.
