Saffron Sunset – Yucatan & Progreso
About this cruise
5 nights from New Orleans, visiting Cozumel and Progreso (Mérida). It sails November 23, 2026 and it's the sort of trip where you come back saying "I needed that." The shape of this trip works well: open water on either side with 2 port calls clustered in the middle. Snorkelling, palm trees, rum. Each stop does it a bit differently. Cozumel stands out. It's Mexico's Caribbean island of Mayan mystery. Around 8 hours per port on average, which is generous enough to go beyond the obvious. Carnival Valor takes the food seriously, with 12 restaurants to choose from. 9 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. A strong pick for first-timers. Not too long, not too short, and you get a taste of the routine. The autumn timing is underrated too. Good weather, calmer seas, and a more relaxed ship. All in all, it's a solid trip.
