Some of the best trips are the ones you barely had to plan. 5 nights from New Orleans on September 14, 2026, visiting Cozumel and Progreso (Mérida), and you're home before the laundry piles up. The sea days at each end give the whole trip a natural arc: build-up, exploration, cool-down. Snorkelling, palm trees, rum. Each stop does it a bit differently. Progreso (Mérida) alone is worth the trip, Gateway to the ancient Mayan world of Yucatán. Roughly 8 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. Carnival Valor takes the food seriously, with 12 restaurants to choose from. 9 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. Works well as a long weekend away, or a quick reset between bigger trips. And September is a good call. Still warm, less crowded, and usually cheaper too. Worth booking. That's the short version.
