Southampton is a major cruise homeport on England's south coast, and many British Isles and transatlantic sailings start or end here. The city has four cruise terminals. The Titanic sailed from here in 1912, and the SeaCity Museum covers the ship's story and the Southampton connection. The medieval city walls survive in sections, and the Bargate is the old town's main entrance. Stonehenge, about an hour's drive north, is the most popular excursion. Winchester, about 20 minutes by train, has a cathedral and the Great Hall with King Arthur's Round Table (a medieval forgery, but impressive). The New Forest National Park, southwest of the city, has wild ponies and walking trails. Central Southampton has the WestQuay shopping centre and a handful of pubs in the old town. A full English breakfast is the standard pre-embarkation meal. The pound is the currency.
