San Sebastian de la Gomera

No visit to San Sebastián would be complete without sampling the island’s unique cuisine. Try *almogrote*, a tangy cheese spread made with local Gomera cheese, garlic, and peppers, best enjoyed with freshly baked bread. For something sweeter, *bienmesabe*, a rich almond dessert, is a must. The town’s compact centre makes it easy to explore on foot, with narrow streets lined with artisan shops selling handmade pottery, woven baskets, and the island’s famous *miel de palma* (palm honey). If time allows, take a short taxi ride to the nearby beach of Playa de Santiago for a quick dip in the Atlantic or a seaside café con leche before heading back to the ship.
