Manzanillo is Mexico's largest Pacific port, set between two sweeping bays framed by golden sand and a sailfish statue near the docks. The city calls itself the Sailfish Capital of the World. Taxis and buses connect the cruise terminal to town, where palm-lined streets lead to colourful markets. The Malecón boardwalk has shaded benches, local art, and views of fishing boats rocking in the harbour. The Jardín Obregón, the main town square, fills up with street vendors and musicians around the gazebo. The mercado on Av. Francisco I. Madero sells fresh seafood, tropical fruit, and artisan crafts. Pescado zarandeado, a grilled marinated fish, is worth ordering at any beachfront spot. A taxi ride brings you to Las Hadas, a resort with Moorish-Mexican architecture, or to Comala, a Pueblo Mágico of whitewashed lanes and bougainvillea. Taxis run about 35–50 pesos for most trips, and local buses marked El Centro come frequently.
