AIDAblu is the fourth Sphinx class ship and the first built to a modified design with an extra half deck, a larger spa and a slightly longer hull. Meyer Werft handed her over on 4 February 2010, and designer Jette Joop christened her outside the Fischauktionshalle in Hamburg five days later. She was the first AIDA ship with its own brewery on board, which serves the Brauhaus restaurant, and the kiss mouth painted on her bow is 21 metres wide, the largest in the fleet. A 2017 yard stay in Marseille turned the flower shop into an ice cream bar, replaced the 4D cinema with four outside cabins and added an exhaust cleaning system. Meals in the Markt, Bella Donna and East buffets, the Brauhaus and Best Burger @ Sea are included in the fare, while Rossini, the Buffalo Steak House and the Sushi Bar charge for food.
