AIDAdiva is the first of AIDA's seven Sphinx class ships, built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, handed over in Emden on 16 April 2007 and christened in Hamburg four days later. She introduced the Theatrium, a round central space over decks 9 to 11 that works as both atrium and show stage, and when she entered service she was the largest ship in the AIDA fleet. From February to March 2025 she spent seven weeks at the Chantier Naval yard in Marseille as the first ship of the AIDA Evolution programme, which renovated every cabin, turned some of them into suites, and replaced restaurants and bars with concepts from AIDA's newer ships, including the French Kiss restaurant, the East Fusion Asian restaurant and the Lanai Bar. Meals in the Markt and Yachtclub buffets and in the French Kiss, Almhütte and Best Pizza @ Sea restaurants are included in the fare, while Rossini, the Buffalo Steak House and East Fusion charge for food. Her 2025/26 world cruise made her the first AIDA ship to call at Hawaii.
