AIDAmar is the sixth Sphinx class ship, delivered by Meyer Werft in May 2012 and christened in Hamburg on 12 May 2012 during the city's 823rd harbour birthday, with sister ships AIDAsol, AIDAblu and AIDAluna alongside. She introduced flat screens in the inside cabins that show a view of the sea, and like the other enlarged Sphinx ships she has an onboard brewery. AIDA plans to refit AIDAmar, AIDAblu, AIDAsol and AIDAstella by 2028 under its AIDA Evolution programme, following the work already done on the three older Sphinx ships. Meals in the Markt, Bella Donna and East buffets, the Brauhaus and Best Burger @ Sea are included in the fare, while Rossini, the Buffalo Steak House and the Sushi Bar charge for food.
