About Nieuw Statendam

Nieuw Statendam is a Pinnacle class ship built by Fincantieri in Marghera, Italy, delivered to Holland America Line in November 2018 and entering service in December of that year. She is the second of three Pinnacle class ships, following Koningsdam and preceding Rotterdam. Oprah Winfrey served as her christening sponsor at a ceremony in Port Everglades, Florida, in February 2019. Onboard dining includes the Pinnacle Grill steakhouse, the standalone Rudi's Sel de Mer seafood brasserie, the Pan-Asian restaurant Tamarind and the Italian restaurant Canaletto, in addition to the main Dining Room and the Lido Market buffet. The ship sails Caribbean itineraries from Fort Lauderdale in winter and repositions each spring for Northern European and Mediterranean sailings from Amsterdam and Rome.
