About Volendam

Volendam entered service in 1999 as the second ship of Holland America's Rotterdam class, built by Fincantieri at the Marghera yard in Venice alongside sisters Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Zaandam. A three week, roughly eight million dollar dry dock in the Bahamas in October 2024 refreshed the lower category ocean view and interior staterooms, added an art studio and rearranged the retail deck. Dining runs on the two deck Rotterdam Dining Room, the Lido Market buffet, the poolside Dive-In grill and the Explorations Cafe, which combines a library with an espresso bar. Specialty dining is limited to the Pinnacle Grill steakhouse and Canaletto, an Italian menu served from a partitioned section of the Lido Market rather than a standalone room. Over her career she has sailed Alaska's Inside Passage, the Caribbean, Canada and New England, the Mediterranean, and rotations through Asia, Australia and the South Pacific.
