Zuiderdam entered service with Holland America Line in December 2002 as the lead ship of the four vessel Vista Class, built by Fincantieri in Italy and registered in Rotterdam. The ship underwent a two week refurbishment in the Bahamas in December 2025 that added eleven ocean view staterooms, updated bathrooms in verandah cabins, and reworked the Crow's Nest lounge with a bandstand for live performances. Dining venues include the Vista Dining Room, the Pinnacle Grill steakhouse, and the Italian restaurant Canaletto, along with the Lido Market buffet and poolside options such as New York Pizza and Dive-In. The ship typically sails Caribbean itineraries from Miami in winter and has previously undertaken Grand World Voyages. Holland America's Evolution program, which will add suite categories and a Grand Dutch Café, is scheduled to reach Zuiderdam in spring 2028.
