Alaskan Wilderness – Juneau & Skagway
About this cruise
This one leaves San Francisco on August 3, 2026 and spends 10 nights visiting Juneau, Skagway, Tracy Arm Fjord, Ketchikan and Prince Rupert at a pace where every day has something going on but there's always time to just sit and watch the water too. The first couple of days are at sea, which gives you time to settle in and get to know the ship before the ports begin. The wildlife alone makes it worth it: whales, bears, eagles, sea otters. Bring binoculars. Most ports give you about 10 hours, so you can do more than just tick off the main sights. As for the ship itself, Carnival Luminosa keeps you well fed. 9 places to eat, with 6 included in the fare and a few specialty spots if you're in the mood. 10 nights is long enough to build a routine on board: favourite restaurant, favourite deck chair, favourite people. It starts to feel like a floating village. The sweet spot for most travellers: you get to know the ship, see the ports, and come home before the laundry piles up. It's peak season, so the weather is at its best and the ship will be full. That's part of the fun. You'll probably start planning the next one before this one's even over.
