Gilded Isthmus Crossing – Huatulco & Panama Canal
About this cruise
The kind of trip where you lose track of what day it is, and nobody cares. 16 nights from Los Angeles on March 2, 2027, visiting Puerto Vallarta, Huatulco and Puerto Chiapas, with additional stops along the Caribbean. You wind up in Fort Lauderdale, so it's worth planning a night or two there. The first couple of days are at sea, which gives you time to settle in and get to know the ship before the ports begin. The route threads through 5 countries along the Caribbean coast: Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Aruba and United States. Most ports give you about 10 hours, so you can do more than just tick off the main sights. As for the ship itself, Island Princess has 6 restaurants on board, which means you could eat somewhere different nearly every night. By night three you start recognising faces; by night ten you're swapping numbers. That's the magic of a longer sailing. A spring departure helps too: decent weather and a calmer feel at each port. Hard to ask for much more than that, honestly.
