Gilded Tidelands – Juneau, Skagway & Whittier
About this cruise
Every port gets the time it deserves and the sea days in between are half the fun. This 14-night sailing leaves Vancouver on May 15, 2027 and visits Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, with additional stops along the Alaska. Expect a run of consecutive ports, 7 stops total, with the busiest days packed close together. The sea days around them feel earned. The wildlife alone makes it worth it: whales, bears, eagles, sea otters. Bring binoculars. Don't rush through Hubbard Glacier, which is known as North America's largest tidewater glacier. Roughly 11 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. Discovery Princess keeps you well fed. 13 places to eat, with 5 included in the fare and a few specialty spots if you're in the mood. The shows alone are worth the extra nights. You'll catch comedy, music, theatre, and themed evenings you'd miss on a shorter trip. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. If you can, add a night in Vancouver before boarding. It's a good city to wander. And May is a good time to go. Mild weather, things starting to bloom, and fewer people than summer. All told, 7 ports across 14 nights covers a lot.
