Gilded Wake – Marseille, Portofino & Ephesus
About this cruise
Block out 14 nights from July 18, 2026 and let this sailing from Barcelona do its thing. The route covers Palma de Mallorca, Marseille and Ajaccio, with additional stops along the Western Mediterranean and there's plenty of room to breathe between each stop. You wind up in Piraeus (Athens), so it's worth planning a night or two there. Expect a run of consecutive ports, 12 stops total, with the busiest days packed close together. The sea days around them feel earned. The Western Mediterranean route takes in Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Türkiye, 5 countries, and the differences show up in the food, the architecture, and the mood. Genoa stands out. It's Columbus' birthplace, a labyrinth of caruggi. Roughly 11 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. Sun Princess joined the Princess Cruises's lineup in 2024. Still has that new-ship feel. With more nights comes more time for the ship's rhythm to kick in: morning coffee in the same spot, evening shows, late-night conversations on deck. Families and groups will find plenty to do: waterslides, shows, multiple pools, and something for every age. If you can, add a night in Barcelona before boarding. It's a good city to wander. And July means long, warm days. Good for the ports, good for the pool. All in all, it's a solid trip.
