You won't run out of things to do on a trip this long, but you also won't feel like you have to do any of them. 21 nights from Fort Lauderdale on November 8, 2026, visiting Half Moon Cay, Oranjestad and Cartagena, with additional stops along the Caribbean. There's a stretch of back-to-back port days, so those days are busy, but the sea days around them give you time to recharge. Crossing 6 borders through the Caribbean: Bahamas, Netherlands, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Jamaica. You'll notice the culture shift at every stop. Roughly 7 hours per stop. More of a sampler than a deep dive. As for the ship itself, Nieuw Amsterdam takes the food seriously, with 9 restaurants to choose from. 5 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. 21 nights is long enough to build a routine on board: favourite restaurant, favourite deck chair, favourite people. It starts to feel like a floating village. A proper voyage for people who like to take their time and hate rushing through destinations. Pro tip: fly in the day before. Fort Lauderdale has plenty to offer, and you'll board relaxed instead of rushed. Being shoulder season helps: golden light, comfortable weather, and shorter queues at the popular spots. Hard to ask for much more than that, honestly.
