The sea days come first, which means no rushing to get off the ship on day one. You hit the ports relaxed and ready. The route threads through 4 countries along the Caribbean coast: U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Bahamas. Keep an eye out for Puerto Plata (Amber Cove): Dominican amber and Atlantic waves. Roughly 9 hours ashore per stop. No need to rush. There are 14 restaurants on Carnival Vista, so you'd need to double up a few evenings to try them all in 8 nights. Port Canaveral itself is worth spending some time in. Don't just treat it as a departure point. And November is a good call. Still warm, less crowded, and usually cheaper too. That's 8 nights well spent.
