Mediterranean Grand Tour – Rome to Barcelona
About this cruise
Somewhere around day five the ship stops being transport and starts being home. This 14-night sailing from Civitavecchia (Rome) on May 23, 2026 visits Naples, Souda (Chania) and Kusadasi, with additional stops along the Eastern Mediterranean. You get off in Barcelona, which is a good excuse to tack on a few days on land. There's a stretch of back-to-back port days, so those days are busy, but the sea days around them give you time to recharge. It's a proper Eastern Mediterranean tour: 5 countries, from Italy to Spain. Most ports give you about 11 hours, so you can do more than just tick off the main sights. As for the ship itself, Sun Princess (2024) is one of the newer ships out there, with current design and recent tech throughout. By night three you start recognising faces; by night ten you're swapping numbers. That's the magic of a longer sailing. A spring departure helps too: decent weather and a calmer feel at each port. 14 nights of not thinking about anything except where to eat next. That's the pitch.
