Turquoise Trail – Caribbean’s Veins
About this cruise
Somewhere around day five the ship stops being transport and starts being home. This 12-night sailing from Fort Lauderdale on February 28, 2027 visits Half Moon Cay, Oranjestad and Cartagena, with additional stops along the Caribbean. There's a stretch of back-to-back port days, so those days are busy, but the sea days around them give you time to recharge. The route threads through 6 countries along the Caribbean coast: Bahamas, Netherlands, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Cayman Islands. With about 7 hours at each port, you'll want a plan, or at least a shortlist. As for the ship itself, Nieuw Amsterdam has 9 restaurants on board, which means you could eat somewhere different nearly every night. By night three you start recognising faces; by night ten you're swapping numbers. That's the magic of a longer sailing. Whether you've cruised before or not, this 12-night itinerary is a genuinely good one.
