CocoCay is Royal Caribbean's private island in the Berry Islands chain of the Bahamas. Ships dock at a pier, so no tendering. The island splits into zones: Thrill Waterpark has waterslides including Daredevil's Peak, one of the tallest in North America; Oasis Lagoon is the Caribbean's largest freshwater pool; Chill Island has the free beach loungers and hammocks. Up to Splash Summit, the more relaxed waterpark, is included with your cruise fare along with basic dining. The paid extras include Coco Beach Club with its overwater cabanas, and helium balloon rides that lift you 450 feet for aerial views. South Beach is quieter and less crowded than the main strip. Food is included at several spots, though the specialty options cost extra. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes, as the beach can be rocky in places. The island gets busy, so heading to the far ends pays off.
