Ocean Cay is MSC Cruises' private island in the Bahamas, about 65 miles east of Miami. Ships dock directly at the pier. The island was a former sand extraction site, and MSC replanted it with native vegetation and established a marine reserve around the shoreline. There are eight beaches spread along the coast, ranging from lively to quiet. The island is designed for a full beach day. Cabanas and beach chairs can be rented, and there's a food court area with grilled items included in your cruise fare. Snorkelling equipment is available for exploring the reef. The Lighthouse Bar sits at the highest point. There's no local town or culture to explore since the island is entirely cruise-operated. Everything is charged to your ship card, so no cash is needed. The island stays open after dark for a beach bonfire and music.
