King's Wharf in Bermuda puts you at the Royal Naval Dockyard, a former British naval base built from local limestone. The Clocktower Mall has shops and restaurants inside the old administrative buildings. The National Museum of Bermuda covers the island's maritime and social history. The Dockyard area has enough to fill a few hours on its own, but the rest of the island is the real draw. Fast ferries from the Dockyard run to Hamilton (the capital) and St. George's, both worth visiting. Bermuda's pink-sand beaches are the main attraction: Horseshoe Bay is the most famous and gets crowded, but Warwick Long Bay next door is usually quieter. The water is warm and clear. Bermuda uses its own dollar, pegged 1:1 with the US dollar, and both are accepted everywhere. Renting a scooter is the most common way to get around since rental cars are not available to visitors.
