Liverpool

Liverpool's cruise terminal sits on the Mersey waterfront, within walking distance of the main attractions. The Albert Dock, a complex of restored Victorian warehouses, houses the Beatles Story museum, Tate Liverpool, and the Mersey Maritime Museum. The Three Graces (the Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building, and Port of Liverpool Building) form the iconic waterfront skyline. The Pier Head is the central gathering point. The Cavern Club on Mathew Street, where the Beatles played nearly 300 times in the early 1960s, still hosts live music. Penny Lane and Strawberry Field are in the suburbs, reachable by tour bus. Liverpool's two cathedrals (Anglican and Catholic) sit at opposite ends of Hope Street and are both architecturally striking. The food scene has grown considerably, with Bold Street offering independent restaurants. The pound is the currency.
