Cabo San Lucas sits at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula, where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez. Ships anchor offshore near El Arco, a rock arch at Land's End that is the town's most recognisable landmark, and passengers tender to the marina. The marina boardwalk is loud and busy, lined with bars, restaurants and shops selling silver jewellery and painted ceramics. Medano Beach, a short water taxi ride from the marina, has the best swimming sand in town. Street vendors there sell Baja-style fish tacos, which are battered, fried and topped with cabbage and crema. The marina restaurants lean heavier on sit-down seafood and grilled shrimp. Cabo Wabo Cantina, Sammy Hagar's place, pulls crowds for live music and cold drinks. Everything around the marina is walkable, and taxis can take you further along the coast if you want quieter beaches.
