Oosterdam is a Vista class ship built by Fincantieri in Marghera, Italy, and entered Holland America Line service in July 2003 as the second of four sister ships, alongside Zuiderdam, Westerdam and Noordam. A 2025 dry dock in Freeport, Bahamas gave the Rolling Stone Lounge a different bar, lighting and dance floor, replaced carpet across suites, verandah staterooms and public areas including the Atrium and Photo Gallery, and expanded the Greenhouse Spa and Salon with a co-ed sauna and a rebuilt thermal suite. Dining includes the main Dining Room, the Italian venue Canaletto, and the steak and seafood focused Pinnacle Grill, alongside the casual Lido Market buffet and the poolside Dive-In grill. The ship's deployment has centered on Mediterranean sailings in summer and South America in winter, following earlier seasons in Alaska, the Mexican Riviera, Hawaii, Australia and the South Pacific.
