The route threads through 6 countries along the Baltic coast: Germany, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and United Kingdom. Most ports give you about 11 hours, so you can do more than just tick off the main sights. As for the ship itself, Nieuw Statendam has 12 restaurants on board, which means you could eat somewhere different nearly every night. 13 nights is long enough to build a routine on board: favourite restaurant, favourite deck chair, favourite people. It starts to feel like a floating village. The timing adds to it: swapping cold weather for sunshine and sea air is the whole pitch for a winter cruise. Hard to ask for much more than that, honestly.
