Atlantic to Mediterranean – Halifax, Lisbon & Barcelona
About this cruise
You won't run out of things to do on a trip this long, but you also won't feel like you have to do any of them. 19 nights from New York on April 19, 2026, visiting Halifax, Ponta Delgada and Lisbon, with additional stops along the Western Mediterranean. You wind up in Palermo, so it's worth planning a night or two there. That gives you 9 days in port and 9 at sea, enough of each to find a rhythm. Crossing 6 borders through the Western Mediterranean: Canada, Portugal, Spain, France, Tunisia and Italy. You'll notice the culture shift at every stop. Most ports give you about 11 hours, so you can do more than just tick off the main sights. As for the ship itself, MSC Meraviglia takes the food seriously, with 9 restaurants to choose from. 3 are included, and the rest are worth the splurge. By night three you start recognising faces; by night ten you're swapping numbers. That's the magic of a longer sailing. If you like having options (restaurants, bars, activities, entertainment), a big ship delivers that. Pro tip: fly in the day before. New York has plenty to offer, and you'll board relaxed instead of rushed. A spring departure helps too: decent weather and a calmer feel at each port. Hard to ask for much more than that, honestly.
